Fausto, here at 4:16 a.m. ET Friday, has become a hurricane far off Mexico’s Pacific coast (above).
The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, said Friday that none of the storms are expected to threaten land.
Hurricane Fausto has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph).
The storm’s center is about 445 miles (720 kilometers) southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving northwest at 13 mph (20 kph). The path will take the storm out into the Pacific.
Even farther off the coast, Tropical Storm Elida continues to weaken, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (95 kph.)
And in the open Atlantic, Tropical Storm Bertha is strengthening with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph).
Forecasters expect Elida and Bertha to weaken.
